Obituary

Alice Price, 86, of Wagoner Oklahoma, passed from this life to reconnect with her deceased family and friends on June 7, 2022.

A devoted and supportive wife of Dale Franklyn 'Pete' Price for over 65 years, they resided in Tulsa for most of the forty years following their marriage.  Alice was a member of Tulsa County Extension Homemakers Club and spent all her free time gardening, winning several ribbons at The Tulsa State Fair for her home arts and home grown vegetables.  She was an advocate for home gardening and strongly rejected the use of pesticides in favor of nourishing her soil with compost and other 'natural' soil enhancements ~ beginning in the 70's!  If you couldn't find her in the house it was because she and her shovel where outside turning soil, burying compost or planting seeds and starts.

Alice and Pete were fortunate to have traveled extensively throughout the continental United States.  Coming from large families, they journeyed back and forth on many occasions for the sole purpose of enjoying the company of distant family members.  Upon Pete's retirement, they moved back to his home town Wagoner, built their retirement home and continued their travels.

Alice will be fondly remembered by those who received seeds of her love; whether picking berries, saving tadpoles from puddles or stopping to remove the occasional wayward turtle from the road.  She has loved well and has been well loved.

Alice raised their two children as an at-home mother.  Son, Lawrence Dale Price and wife Katie of Edmond Oklahoma and Daughter Cynthia Joann Price of Wagoner Oklahoma.  She was blessed with five Grandchildren and eight Great-grandchildren; Amanda Courchesne and her children Keenan, Lorenzo, and Daysha; Lawrence Nathan Price, his wife Missy and their two sons, Ethan and Dylan; Christina Hill and her daughter Sophia; Steve Huguenin; Jennifer Huguenin and her two daughters, Brittany and Madison.

One of 12 children born to Alice and Grant Rothhammer, she has four surviving siblings; Stella Williams, Margy Beach, and Carol Henderson, all of Oklahoma and Grant Rothhammer of California.  She is also survived by a multitude of Nieces and Nephews whom she loved.

Those who called her 'Aunt Toady' knew her growing up and were very dear to her: Brad Rothhammer of Colorado, Peggy Bray, Teena Whitehouse, Ellen Collingwood and Bruce Rothhammer, John Chamblee, Loretta Carol Fulton, Glenda Quick, and David Chamblee, all of Florida.  Don Blevins, Diane Krug and Dwayne Blevins of Oklahoma.  Keena, Grant, and G. Reed, of California. Don, Mark and Mike Beach of Bristow, Danny Rowe of Missouri and Debbie Houghton of Mississippi. Vincent, Oliver, Allan and Alice Melva, all of Oklahoma.

She also dearly loved those surviving Nephews and Nieces who knew her as  'Aunt Alice'.  Debbie McDaris, Chester and David Price; Mike Price, Patty Frisby and Holly Price, Rosanna and Belinda Walling, Chrissy Charles and Candy Murphy; all of Oklahoma.
